Smalley Road Runners is an ever-growing running club based in Heanor/Smalley – Derbyshire. We currently have over 250 members of all abilities ranging from Couch to 5K (C25K) to Ultra Runners (further than a traditional Marathon).
Our friendly club prides itself on being fully inclusive and is currently split into 5 different ability groups for our Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions. We cater for absolute beginners, have two intermediate groups (Inters B & A) and two Advanced groups (Advanced B & A).
All groups have dedicated leaders, co-leaders and support runners. No-one gets left behind.
Club runs start at 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and all groups aim to be back by 8pm. It’s advisable to arrive at around 6.50pm for the pre-run briefing.
In 2018 we introduced an additional Monday morning club run around Shipley Park. This is one mixed ability group and starts at 10am from the wheel (at the visitor centre end of the main car park – Heanor Gate entrance to Shipley Park).
There is also a Sunday morning club run at 9am from the wheel – Please note however that on the last Sunday each month we arrange an away day run (no run from the wheel) – details of these away day runs can be found in the Facebook Group.
Whilst remaining competitive, we also enjoy the social aspect of running. Our main aim is to enjoy ourselves and have fun whilst keeping fit and healthy.
We meet at Heanor Conservative Club, Church Street, Heanor DE75 7AH. Find us on Facebook at Smalley Road Runners and find more information about our membership here
